STEPS Project Role
Dr. Guthrie will provide support with the development, implementation, and evaluation of hypothetical case scenario (HCS) reusable learning objects (RLOs) for the Resilient Animal Production Systems team. She will also provide support in developing standard operating procedure documentation and disseminating the project via webinars and at various education and discipline-based conferences.
Research Bio
Dr. Guthrie is a classically trained plant developmental biologist, receiving her PhD from the University of Missouri. She is currently in a Teaching Assistant Professor role within the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics at the University of Minnesota, where she teaches a variety of classes for the Plant Science and Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems majors. Dr. Guthrie's research focus is on developing creative and engaging activities for the budding systems thinker and evaluating the efficacy of science writing instruction and interventions at the undergraduate level.
